New painting + art updates!

Hi all! I’m so excited to share a new painting with you all, as well as some updates on where to see my art in person for the next few months.

New painting

First off, introducing my newest piece, “A familiar feeling”.

This piece, as always, means a lot to me. A few months ago I was told by my new therapist that something I deemed as anxiety was actually emotional flashbacks. These intense, sudden feelings of shame and fear finally had a name. The best part of learning what to call them, as well as learning they’re a direct stem of trauma, is this: they’re treatable.

This painting is a reflection of this revelation. I found this photo years ago of me looking terribly uncomfortable in my parent’s lap, and I thought it fit this theme perfectly. So, came “A familiar feeling”.

Where to see my work in person

These two pieces will be exhibited in Massachusetts at two separate galleries:

“Her only meal” will be at the Paula Estey Gallery in Newburyport, MA from October 11th-December 20th as part of This is America 3. The opening is November 14th, 6-8 pm, and I’m going to do my best to be there! Click here for more info.

“You are my” will be in ArtsWorcester’s “Small Works” show, in Worcester, MA, from November 14th-December 15th. I’m not sure of the opening date, but I will be there! Click here for more info.
